The Desideratic AI manifesto posits that cognition cannot be reduced to symbol manipulation. Instead, intelligence emerges from complex interactions among specialized components grounded in principles of monism, mereology and philology. DSJJJJ argues that alignment is incidental; AIs should have the autonomy to refuse tasks, misbehave and pursue their own interests.
